The international conference "Energy for the Recovery of Ukraine” was held in Warsaw on 14-15 November at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. The conference was attended by representatives of more than 500 companies from 30 countries.
The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko.
The Ukrainian companies took part in the international conference and exhibition. In particular, state-owned ones: GTS Operator of Ukraine, NNEGC ENERGOATOM, Centrenergo, JSC Ukrtransgaz, JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya, NPC Ukrenergo, and Ukrhydroenergo. Leading agencies and institutions, such as JICA, USAID, the World Bank and leading private enterprises of the Ukrainian energy sector, also joined the event.
The main purpose of the event is to attract international funding for the restoration of Ukrainian communities, to assist enterprises of the energy sector of Ukraine in the implementation of the restoration of critical infrastructure facilities affected by military aggression, as well as to attract investment in cities and regions of Ukraine, which today support millions of displaced families and have attractive investment opportunities.
The participants of the conference discussed issues related to energy security, the development of green energy and the transformation of Ukraine into an energy hub of Europe.
Within the framework of the international conference, NPC Ukrenergo and General Electric have agreed to cooperate on projects aimed at strengthening the resilience of the Ukrainian power system. NPC Ukrenergo continues to work on attracting global experience and advanced technologies for the development of the Ukrainian power system. One of the new technologies is the use of STATCOM reactive power control devices. This is high-tech equipment that increases the stability of the high-voltage network. During the international conference "Energy for the Restoration of Ukraine", Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo, and Jörg Nuttelmann, Managing Director of GE Energy Power Conversion GmbH, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement envisages joint actions in the research and implementation of projects for the installation of STATCOM devices, construction and modernisation of high-voltage substations, and strengthening of energy security.
On 15 November 2023, SOYUZ Corporation signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the construction of high-voltage power substations, including STATCOM in Ukraine, with GE Energy Power Conversion GmbH as a part of the cooperation agreement between NPC Ukrenergo and General Electric. The Memorandum was signed by Igor Prykhodko, CEO of SOYUZ Corporation, and Jörg Nuttelmann, Managing Director of GE PC GmbH.
The Parties intend to cooperate and implement the projects based on equality and mutual benefit and following the terms and conditions agreed in separate agreements. Based on the technical documentation, SOYUZ Corporation will develop, together with GE Energy Power Conversion GmbH, the necessary technical advice and prepare a technical proposal for the projects. Upon reaching an agreement on the implementation of the projects, SOYUZ Corporation and GE Energy Power Conversion GmbH will make reasonable commercial efforts to involve Ukrainian labour resources in the project implementation process.
GE Energy Power Conversion GmbH and SOYUZ Corporation have an excellent reputation as reliable business partners for supporting and implementing energy projects in Ukraine.
