ABOUT PROJECT

Reconstruction of turbine generator and its thyristor excitation systems and reconstruction of the electrical equipment at power unit No. 5

 At the commission of "Zakhidenergo" OJSC, SOYUZ Corporation committed to perform in 10-month period the reconstruction of electrical equipment of power unit No. 5 of DTEK Burshtyn CHP.

During the reconstruction of electrical annex of the power unit No. 5 the following works were performed:

  • repair of synchronous electrical motors of ball tube mills (КВМ type), reconstruction of excitation systems for electrical motors of the mills with replacement of cross-field exciters with static thyristor exciters VTE 320/150;

  • replacement of high-voltage and low-voltage electric motors of main and auxiliary technological equipment;

  • reconstruction of the integrated cable system and the lighting system of the power unit;

  • reconstruction of control and distribution unit КRP - 6 kV with the replacement of oil switches with vacuum switches VR-2 and reconstruction of relay protection and automation of distribution cells of the substation;

  • implementation of microprocessor protection system of "Generator – Transformer" unit, ALTRA-32 system protecting from earth short circuit, and "REGINA" registration system of emergency processes;

  • overhaul of the auxiliary transformer TRDN 25000/35A;

  • reconstruction of Outdoor Switchgear VRP-220 kV with the replacement of air circuit breakers RLND 220 kV with the modern ones of SGF 245 type, and with the replacement of current transformers TFND-220 with the modern ones of IMB 245 type;

  • reconstruction of stator and rotor of turbogenerator TGV-200, as well as providing of water cooling for stator winding, and replacement of excitation systems with UNITROL 6800 modern thyristor system completed with transformer.

Reconstruction of ball tube mill (КBM)

There were performed overhaul of synchronous electrical motors with complete replacement of stator and rotor windings; excitation system reconstruction designing; delivery of thyristor exciters VTE 320/150, transformers, control cabinet for backup exciter choice, and necessary materials; dismantling of cross-field exciter, installation of equipment; performance restoration of backup exciter; and commissioning works.

Reconstruction of control and distribution unit КRP-6kV

  • Project documentation for replacement of rolling elements with oil switches was developed;

  • Delivery of high-voltage equipment, relay protection and control devices was performed;

  • Replacement and adaptation of each roll-out element of substation, installation and testing of Relay Protection and Automatic Equipment was performed.

After completion of the replacement of high-voltage electric motors and reconstruction of integrated cable system there was performed individual and overall tests of the equipment.

Reconstruction of Outdoor Switchgear VRP-220 kV

There was accomplished the project on replacement of air circuit breakers, current transformers, busbar supports, and installation of excess-voltage suppressors at the transformer annex.

Replacement of disconnectors and current transformers included dismantling the outdated equipment, restoration of reinforced concrete structures, manufacturing of individual metal structures, installation of modern equipment and work on installing control cabinets and cable products.

Overhaul of the auxiliary transformer TRDN 25000/35A

The overhaul was performed under developed and agreed with the Customer program, which included the repair of transformer active part with its removing, repair of external equipment, including oil coolers, the on-load tap changing and other, replacement of transformer oil and restoration of the protective paint coating.
